3 oils you have at home that can quickly thicken and grow back eyebrow hair

castor oil eyebrows

I’ve always struggled with my eyebrows, having over-plucked them when I was younger they resisted growing back. However, I tried out some of the following natural remedies (I’m too afraid to put chemicals on my already dwindling brows) and the results were magnificent!

Our eyebrow hairs are similar to the ones on our head; made of a protein called keratin and strings of amino acids (which make our hair strong). So if these bonds found in the amino acid chains are broken it causes our hair follicles also to break -I must have weak bonds because my hair is always breaking.

Whether it’s down to genetics, illness, hormone imbalance or self-caused (like me) and you want nothing more than beautiful brows then why not try one of the following natural remedies before whipping out that eyebrow pencil. Continue reading to find out which natural remedy is right for you!

Use Oils!

Castor Oil

Great at keeping dandruff at bay! Dandruff inhibits hair growth, which means if you have dry eyebrows then you’re going to struggle to grow them out.  Castor Oil has many other significant health benefits from skin problems to muscle and joint pain relief. Follow these instructions every evening before bed for incredible results:

  1. Remove any makeup- great natural makeup remover found here!
  2. Clean eyebrow area using warm water.
  3. Dip a cotton swab into castor oil (preferably cold-pressed).
  4. Apply the oil onto eyebrow area.
  5. Massage gently for 3 minutes and leave overnight.
  6. Wash off in the morning with warm water.

Repeat this routine every day for 6 weeks, and you’ll find your brows will have dramatically increased in volume, and any dryness will be gone.

Coconut Oil

It’s not only a healthy cooking oil alternative (delicious recipe found here), it can increase those brows as well! According to this study, coconut oil is an excellent conditioning treatment that prevents hair breakage!

If you dye your eyebrows or have done so in the past, then this is the remedy for you! Apply coconut oil to your brows in the same way you do with castor oil. (Follow the steps above but replace the castor oil with organic coconut oil).

Almond Oil

Rich in antioxidants and Vitamin E. According to Healthline, almond oil has many different health benefits as well as being incredible for hair growth; ‘helps you maintain healthy cholesterol levels and improve memory. It may help you lower the risks of diseases like cancer and heart disease.’ Almond oil will also soften the skin, allowing eyebrow hairs to grow efficiently.

It leaves you with a silky soft touch and smelling delicious; buy organic almond oil here. Almond oil can also be applied in the same method as castor and coconut oil has been, leaving your brows extraordinarily soft, smooth and volumized!

Here’s a video which combines all three essential oils to make one incredible eyebrow potion to get the bushy brows you deserve.

Note: In the video, she uses Vitamin E; however, you can replace it with almond oil as it is rich in Vitamin E!
